University of Wollongong Immersive Multimedia Space

This interactive media extravaganza features a 270 degree, double-storey high video projection that responds to movements with participants being both controller and creator. Utilising Kinect technology, an infrared camera and projectors, changeable digital landscapes create an immersive and responsive experience. Visitors are tracked within the space and presented within the digital environments as a range of avatars, becoming part of the on-screen story as participants wave to attract schools of fish in Underwater World; be active in the electronic Ball Pit – with a zero-gravity feature; Create rain, lightning and thunder on the Prairie; or make a melody inside the Music Box.
